Match2Ride is owned and operated by Tech Milano Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). 1. Privacy by Default

In accordance with Quebec Law 25, Match2Ride is designed with the highest level of confidentiality by default.

  • Your profile is not publicly searchable.
  • Real-time location sharing is OFF by default.
  • You must explicitly accept a Friend Request before another user can interact with you or see your shared location.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our social networking and event-matching services:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile picture provided during registration.
  • Precise Geolocation: We collect your precise location data only when you explicitly enable "Location Sharing" for a specific friend or event.
  • Social Graph: Data regarding your "Friend" list and "Blocked" list to manage your interactions.
  • Technical Data: IP address, device ID, and crash logs collected via Google Firebase for app performance and security.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Facilitating Connections: To allow you to find friends and coordinate attendance at events.
  • Safety: To manage blocked users and monitor for suspicious activity.
  • App Performance: Using Firebase to troubleshoot bugs and improve the user experience.

4. Data Storage and Cross-Border Transfers

We use Google Firebase for data hosting and analytics. Your personal information may be stored on servers located outside of Quebec (specifically in the United States). By using Match2Ride, you acknowledge that your data may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, though we ensure our service providers maintain high standards of data protection.

5. Your Rights (Quebec & Canada)

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access & Rectification: The right to view and correct your data.
  • De-indexing: The right to request that your information stop being disseminated.
  • Data Portability: The right to receive your data in a structured, technological format.
  • Right to Erasure: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via the in-app settings.
